Moon in the 12th House

How the Moon works in the 12th house

You usually try to avoid conflict, turmoil, and stress. Even among longtime friends, you feel uncomfortable, and your anxiety grows around strangers.

In social situations, you often feel awkward or unsettled for no apparent reason. You prefer to keep your distance from the group, even though you like individual people within it.

Secret love affairs and romances are likely, since you're drawn to everything hidden and mysterious. You value being trusted and understood, but you yourself can be too trusting and romantic. You may struggle to express your thoughts aloud, yet produce real masterpieces on paper.

Your mother can have a profound influence on your psyche. If your parents were strict and taught you patience and self-control, you will hide your emotions as an adult and find it difficult to express them.

What the 12th house governs

The 12th house in your birth chart concerns everything buried deep within you, beneath the surface: your subconscious and your secrets. It represents your deepest feelings and hopes, insecurities and fears, secrets and painful stories from the past that you want to forget. The twelfth house describes everything hidden inside you that others—and sometimes you yourself—can only guess at. It also reveals your strengths and weaknesses, looking beyond the obvious to your hidden potential.

What the Moon represents

The Moon's zodiac sign in your birth chart governs your emotions, intuition, and subconscious. The Moon represents your feminine side, your receptivity, and your capacity for empathy: the ability to feel with other people and sense what they're going through.
