Uranus in the 9th House

How Uranus works in the 9th house

Your philosophy of life is to remain yourself. All your life, you protect your individuality and resist society's attempts to rein in your free spirit and impose a shared set of values.

You try to avoid heavy responsibilities, from making a marriage official to signing payroll paperwork. You change jobs more often than other people. You're a nomad at heart and like to ride off into the sunset in style. You're also a humanist and a pacifist, intent on creating an ideal world and always hopeful of a bright future.

Psychology or sociology will probably hold your attention for a long time, but the unexplained and unknown interest you even more, including mysticism and esoteric subjects. You could easily become interested in quantum physics and other fields that allow the most extraordinary theories. Computer science would suit you, too, offering the chance to work wonders, even if only in a virtual world. Since formal education doesn't mean much to you, you may not finish it. Still, a degree may make no difference to your life.

What the 9th house governs

The 9th house in your birth chart extends the themes of the third house, covering long-distance travel and higher education. It describes your connections with people from other countries, how readily you set off on a trip, whether you enjoy traveling far from home, and how often you do so. It also concerns putting your knowledge into practice and your aptitude for study—meaning higher education or specialized professional knowledge. School education belongs to the third house.
