The opposition is a direct confrontation. Two planets stand at opposite ends of the chart, pulling in different directions. Unlike a square, the conflict here tends to feel less like a struggle within you and more like an either-or choice: two extremes between which you need to find your balance.

Oppositions often express themselves through relationships. What you can't reconcile within yourself, life presents through a partner, an opponent, or a situation that demands a choice. The task is to learn to hold both sides at once, rather than choosing one forever.

An opposition has an orb of about 6–8°, the same as a square.
