If you have Pisces rising, Pisces was the sign coming up on the horizon when you were born. It shapes your first impression: what people pick up in the first few seconds of meeting you, before they discover what you're really like.
How other people see you
People see you as a thoughtful, dreamy, kind person with a particularly sensitive soul. You're compassionate and truly help your friends, and you can be deeply, genuinely concerned about other people's problems.
People around you, especially those close to you, see someone who really understands people, a "shoulder to cry on," a support in a hard moment. It's easy and peaceful to be with you in a group. You create a warm, sincere atmosphere that makes people feel at ease and want to open up and "confess."
People who know you trust your instincts, your powerful intuition, and your excellent artistic taste. Your fine feel for beauty usually shows in your manners and in a knack for dressing with taste, and it can find expression in any creative profession.
Your rising sign's ruler, element, and modality
Pisces rising is ruled by Neptune. See how Neptune works in the different houses of your chart. Its element is Water (read more about Water), and its modality is Mutable.
Pisces rising vs. a Pisces Sun
The Sun in Pisces describes your essential character: what drives you on the inside. An Ascendant in Pisces describes how you present yourself, the style that comes through when you're around other people. If your Sun is in another sign and you have Pisces rising, people notice your Pisces traits first. Only as they get to know you do they discover the character described by your Sun.
