Mutable Signs in Your Birth Chart

The mutable signs, Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, and Pisces, close each season and prepare the transition to the next. Planets here receive flexibility: the ability to adapt, change shape to suit the circumstances, and switch easily between tasks and points of view.

The strength of the mutable modality is adaptability. Where a cardinal sign stubbornly charges straight ahead and a fixed sign stands its ground, a mutable sign finds a way around and works with the circumstances. Its weakness is scattered attention and indecision: too many options at once, too ready a switch from one course to another, so that a project might never reach the finish.

If you have many planets in mutable signs, you probably recognize yourself as the one who readily changes plans to suit the situation, and who finds it hardest to choose one option and stick to it.
